90. Leading Older People

About this Podcast

4 in 10 US employees work for a younger boss and it’s been said that in many industries and professions 30 is the new 50.

If you find yourself in a situation where you lead significantly older (or more experienced) people then thoughts and worries such as “What if they don’t respect me?”, “I think I look too young”, or “They don’t take me seriously” may have crossed your mind.

I’ve been there myself and I found it challenging.  And I know I’m not alone. In fact, leading older people has come up numerous times in coaching conversations and is currently top of mind for two of my clients which is why I decided to talk about it here on the podcast.

Because one thing is for sure, nothing about your age is a predeterminant of your success as a leader!
