When it comes to leadership development, I take a hard stance against simple plug & play kinda playbooks that completely leave out awareness building and core leadership principles. Because in my view,  this IS the foundation of great leadership.

Yes, frameworks and tools are amazing, especially for new managers who are often thrown into completely new situations and challenges. So having a playbook is awesome. But it’s simply not enough!

Think about an iceberg. The bottom of the iceberg is invisible, yet is bigger, stronger, and carries the part that we can see above the water.

In terms of leadership, your core attitude, your beliefs, values, and principles are invisible to others. What they do see are your actions and expressions of them.

But it’s the invisible part that matters most.  Yet, in a world of “quick fixes” and “hacks” this part can get so easily overlooked, ignored, and underestimated.
